My favorite movies include John Q, The Fault In Our Stars, and finally
Divergent. These movies include resounding plots and filmmakers that are
extremely good at showing us the message behind the movies. They use different
locations, as well as music to connect images to the plot. They take shots from
different angles to draw in emotions from a scene. These were especially
necessary for the making of The Fault in Our Stars and John Q. In the Fault In
Our Stars the make of the movie used the narration of the main character as
well as special effects to show us the thoughts and emotions of the love story
from a dying girl. However, in Divergent and in John Q we were not given the
characters point of view directly but through scenes and expression. Divergent,
specially, used special effects to show a futuristic time and computerized
images of the ruins of Chicago. This all ties in with the plot allowing for the
viewers to be completely emerged in the film. These particular movies drew me
in because of the great messages behind them, some of which I had never
considered. For example the cruelty of the world we live in tied in with every
aspect including the medical one (John Q), the possibility of infinity in a
numbered amount of days (Tfios), and the that were are defined by our choices
and not our preconceptions (Divergent).
